Mark took his first job in a bakery at age 15. He worked side by side with the lead baker and owner, watching and learning, developing his skill set and cultivating his craft. It wasn’t long after that he realized not only did he love what he was doing, but he was really great at it! He went on to take classes in Cake Design at The International Culinary Center in New York City. For years to come Mark would continue to bake and decorate special occasion cakes, all the while working a full time job in Market Research Sales in NYC. After much thought and consideration, Mark and his wife Amanda decided to take a chance, sell their house, and pursue his passion. It has always been a dream of his to own his own bakery.
Richmondtown seemed like the perfect location, as the neighborhood has been home to the couple (and most recently) their two small children for the past 10 years. We hope you enjoy the offerings at the bakery and it is with great pride we introduce you to Mark’s Bake Shoppe!
